I know 1118 fixes my issues, but Audi claims it isn't compatible with my S5 so they wont install it. In fact, I have several confirmed MMI bugs with plain USB media playback as well on my MMI software (not just Carplay).
For example, most new vehicles have Bluetooth. When making a phone call, the car's built-in speakers and microphone handle the audio. When CarPlay is connected, the call is handled in the same way. I am currently having issues with CarPlay in my 2019 Audi A6. I use it wirelessly and often use Spotify as a music source. Ever since i got the car (from brand new) the system keeps crashing everytime i get in. It also takes a good 2/3 minutes before my phone connects. But i also use the Audi sat nav system instead of using say Google Maps
